This Pride season, I’ve been thinking about what it means to be seen and how much we have to thank the LGBTQ+ community for paving the way towards gender and sexual liberation. Letting others see us for who we are can be a contentious experience. As a queer woman and sex worker, I know this well. And yet, we’re still out here! Because exhibiting the vulnerable parts of ourselves can be far more life-giving than the comfort of living in obscurity. In spite of what Epicurus said that one time. “Feeling known” is the so-called sixth love language, after all.
For better or for worse, we attach a lot of meaning to sex, sexuality and bodies. The tension between what we oughta do or not do is what makes (consensual) depravity all the more delicious! Me, putting on a strip show: undoing this bra strap with veracity to the music, standing overhead as I slowly move that 2 inch fabric to the side. And at the same time, us not thinking of nudity as anything at all. That’s how I want it to be. To enjoy both performance *and* accustomed environment that allows us ease in our humanness.

I will be stationed in Philadelphia for most of June! As promised, I will be making an overdue appearance in DC June 22-25. I still have availability June 22nd and 25th. Give me a reason to put on my best summer dress 🌻 As for the rest of summer, I will likely find myself in Montréal again in July and back in Philadelphia again August 1st and beyond! As always, pre-booking is preferred.
As many of you know, I spent a month in Montréal this spring! It was everything I hoped for and simply too much to recount, so I’ll let my amateur street photography speak for itself. I apologize in advance for the lack of foodie pictures, I was too busy eating.
