Let me share some Molly mythos with you: I was raised in a geological dome also known as the Adirondack mountains. With sucha big back yard to come of age, Linkin Park skipped on my walkmen as I traversed boulders. I cried over boys, sure, but I broke down and wept when my feet unthawed from a snowmobiling trip because SmartWool™ had yet to find way to the North Country. Suffice to say, as a city dweller for most of my adult life, it’s really no surprise that I’ve found myself in a full circle moment this spring, back under the spell of Big Nature. If you feel I’ve gone quiet, it’s because I’m wandering the woods.

There’s an irony not lost on me. I ran away to a small coastal city at 19 years old with very little to my name after working two jobs one summer. I had no choice but to sleep under the stars and eat Ramen to survive. Now? I’m under the same stars but with the most enlightened of equipment and Backpacking Chef’s dehydrated soup recipes living in my browser bookmarks. C’est la vie.

I’m thoroughly possessed by new backpacking hobby and look forward to sharing stories with my nature loving suitors this spring and summer!
